Addresses group themselves by town. The filter can narrow to one of them, and the map opens on the area you are standing in instead of framing the whole country. A long press renames any place or tag.

A filter you can read

The filter is a panel now: how many addresses come through it up top, every tag, place and pin as a badge below. Tap a badge to include it, tap again to exclude it — no more hidden swipes.

Notifications that know when and where

An address can carry its own hours and its own arrival area: no buzzing from the office at the weekend, and a circle you can drag and size to the building rather than the street. Both are Padlok Premium features.

QR codes without a server

A Padlok code used to be a link to an address. It now carries the address itself, which changes three things: it works with no signal on either end, it works for every address rather than one at a time, and it leaves nothing behind on a server — the address rides in a URL fragment that never leaves the device. Scanning uses the whole camera, focuses up close, and tells you when a code isn’t ours.

Addresses are free to create, however many — the free tier is about what you may read, not what you may write, and the three nearest stay open. Padlok speaks 26 languages, notifications included. Favorites became pins, twelve new pictograms arrived, distances read in whole units and finally respect the setting, and the in-app biometric lock is gone: iOS locks Padlok behind Face ID itself, and does it better. Underneath sits a long sweep of fixes across iCloud sync, widgets, the Watch app, Shortcuts and sharing.

Availability

Padlok 2026.1 is a free update, available now on the App Store . Padlok is free to download; Padlok Premium is $1.99 per month, $9.99 per year with a two-week trial, or $34.99 once (1,99 € ; 9,99 € ; 39,99 € — £1.99 ; £9.99 ; £34.99). This release asks for iOS 17 and later, and watchOS 10 and later on Apple Watch.

Saved in a hurry, named properly

Drop a text onto the grid, save a link from the share sheet, ask Siri to keep something: until now those items landed as a numbered tile in a random colour, and tidying up was left to you. SharePal reads the content and names it on the spot, with a colour and an icon to match.

It happens on your device, with Apple Intelligence, on iOS 26 and later. Nothing you save is sent anywhere, a name you typed always wins over a suggestion, and a switch in About turns the whole thing off. Where Apple Intelligence is not available, the numbered tile is still there.

Siri copies without opening the app

Copying an item from Siri used to launch SharePal to do it. It now copies on the spot, asks for Face ID when the item is protected, and on iOS 26 answers with the same card the grid draws, Copy, Share and Open included. A protected item arrives locked, with a Reveal button.

Sideways

The iPhone rotates. Held sideways you get more columns, and the larger phones bring the sidebar along; the same layout follows the window SharePal is given on an iPad or a Mac. A long note scrolls inside its card now, instead of running off the top of the screen.

And the rest

This release also carries a long list of smaller improvements across the app, some of them visible — the item card, the grid, the keyboard — and many of them under the hood.

Liquid Glass, throughout

SharePal takes on the system’s new look: a new app icon, new bars and new buttons across every screen, down to the glyph picker and the confirm and cancel buttons. On iOS 26 and later, SharePal follows the system appearance; on earlier versions it keeps the look it always had.

A keyboard rebuilt sideways

The custom keyboard is the fastest way to drop a saved item into any app, and it has been rebuilt on a horizontal basis. Items now scroll sideways and use the whole height of the keyboard instead of hiding below the fold, and category names stay in view as you scroll. Landscape lays out properly too.

A keyboard that has not been granted full access now explains what it needs, rather than failing quietly.

The iPad sidebar narrows the library

On iPad, the sidebar can now restrict your library to just your links, or just your texts — useful when you keep hundreds of items and want only one kind of them in front of you.

Drop straight onto the grid

Drop a piece of text or a link onto the items grid and SharePal turns it into an item, filed in the category you dropped it into. Dropping onto an empty search result creates the item too, and the share and action extensions now accept dropped links.

Drag and drop that holds

Rearranging a library is the part of SharePal people use hardest, and this release is mostly about making it dependable:

• Pausing mid-drag no longer cancels it, and picking a card up again no longer commits the drag before it
• A sync arriving in the middle of a drag no longer commits it for you
• A canceled drag no longer deletes a category, and no longer leaves the item invisible
• Dragging a card onto another one reorders again
• An item dropped into another category lands where you dropped it
• Reordering is disabled while searching, where it never made sense

And the rest

Every translation has been reviewed and corrected across the app’s thirteen languages. Protected items now ask for biometric authentication when they are opened through a deep link or read by the Get Text shortcut. Alongside those, this release carries a long tail of fixes to search, to iCloud syncing, and to the share and action extensions.

Better integration with iOS

Now, with the upcoming release, Padlok will gain more integration with iOS than ever, including:

• An iMessage app, to share directly from the iMessage app any address details
• Focus mode filtering¹, to automatically filter your addresses by relevancy depending on your current Focus
• Shortcuts actions¹, to automate your workflows and integrate them with Siri

Advanced filtering

This release also comes with tools dedicated to filtering your addresses in-app so that you can access the most relevant addresses at any time:

• Tag your addresses to classify them. Attach one or more tags to your addresses.
• Filter your addresses² using tags, or built-in filters like “favorites”, or “notification enabled”. Negate any criteria, and choose between “exclusive filtering” or “cumulative filtering” depending on your needs.

Other smaller but still relevant changes coming with this update are:

• Phone number attachments: add a phone number to any address, and call from a tap when you retrieve a nearby notification. Ideal when you’re delivering packages, to reach your customer quickly!
• More customization glyphs were added
• Improvements regarding the sharing QR Code, that can now be found within the list’s context menu.

Padlok widgets let users quickly access address info right from their Home Screen or Lock Screen. On the Home Screen, the widget comes in two different sizes: small and medium. On the Lock Screen, a single size is available, along with a “text” variant shown above the time.

Widgets can be customized to either show the nearest address, or a specific selected address. It is also possible to remove specific addresses from being “suggested” on widgets.

Widgets are available today with our latest release. Lock screen widgets are available for iOS 16 or later.
